Monitoring the Physico-Chemical Quality of the Davo River (South-West of Côte d’Ivoire)

The Davo River, an affluent of the Sassandra like other rivers in Côte d’Ivoire, is subject to anthropogenic activities likely deteriorate its quality which could affect use as drinking water and also health aquatic organisms. This study aims at monitoring temporal evolution physico-chemical waters River Dakpadou hydrometric station. Twelve monthly field missions were carried out sample water, measure temperature, pH, Electrical Conductivity analyse turbidity, Suspended solids, major elements (Cl-, NO3-,HCO3-, SO42-, Mg2+, Ca2+, Na+, K+) Trace Metallic Elements (Hg, Fe, Cu, Cr, Pb). Results show that river are poorly mineralized. They acidic during periods low slightly basic flooding periods. average turbidity value 10.18 NTU places these turbid class. have calcic bicarbonate facies sodium with concentrations flood months. TME indicate not harmful for population environment.
